The township clerk is clerk of the Town Board of Trustees and is keeper of all records of the township. The clerk is required to keep accurate records of all meetings of the town board and to maintain records of executive sessions of the board. The clerk is the local election authority and is responsible for accepting petitions concerning local elections and/or referendums. The town clerk is responsible for publishing or posting certain specific notices, including notices for the township highway department.
Voter registration is available through the Clerk’s office for any Illinois resident. Two forms of identification are required; one must be a photo ID and one must have the voter’s current address. You must be at least 18 years of age to register.
Early voting is also available through the Clerk’s office. Early voting is tentatively scheduled to begin at the Township office on Monday, October 13, 2008 for the November 4, 2008 presidential election. Any registered Illinois voter can vote early.
