The highway commissioner is in charge of all roads and bridges in the unincorporated areas of the township. There are 34 ˝ miles of roads in unincorporated Cuba Township that are maintained by the Highway Department, along with another 36 miles of roads in the villages of Tower Lakes and Lake Barrington. These roads are maintained by the Cuba Township Highway Department through an intergovernmental agreement with these 2 villages.
Responsibilities of the highway department include: · Plowing and salting · Mowing of shoulders and right-of-ways · Paving and patching · Street sign maintenance · Debris removal on right-of –way (no brush removal) · Culvert maintenance
