The next scheduled election is April 5, 2005.  Individuals are always needed to work at the polls on election day.  If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please contact the Lake County Clerk’s office at (847) 377-2408 for more information on training and compensation.

To be eligible to vote on April 5, 2005, you must be a registered voter.  To register to vote you must:

1.          Be 18 on or before April 5, 2005

2.          Have resided at your current address 30 days prior to the election

3.          Provide 2 forms of identification; with your current address;  one must be a photo i.d.

 

Voter registration is available at the Township office Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.  Additionally, the office will be open Saturday, March 5, 2005, 9:00 am—noon for voter registration.  As voter registration closes 28 prior to any election, the last day to register to vote for the April 5, 2005 election is March 8, 2005.

 

Absentee voting is available to any registered voter who is not able to vote at their polling place on election day.  In person absentee voting will be begin at the Township office on Monday, March 14, 2005 and continues through Monday, April 4, 2005.  Additionally, the Township office will be open on Saturday, April 2, 2005 from 9:00 am to noon for absentee voting . To vote absentee by mail, please contact the Lake County Clerk’s office at (847) 377-2406.  This applies to students away at school.

 

Many local issues will be included on the April 5, 2005 ballot.  Village officials, school board officials, township officials and local referenda are a few of the items on the ballot.  For more detailed information, please refer to the Lake County Clerk’s website at www. cntyclk@lake.il.us for a sample ballot.
